While raindrops fall over the entirety of the UK and the water swirls around our feet as we trudge to work in our wellington boots let’s spare a thought for Mawsynram, the village in India that holds the title for the wettest place on Earth. On average they receive 11, 872 millimetres of rainfall a year. That’s staggeringly over twice the average annual rainfall in the very wettest parts of the UK.

In search of winter sun and some rest and recuperation, glamourous couple Maya Claughton and James Boyd recently escaped to India for a well deserved break.
